Am I eligible for the AIG?
To be eligible for the AIG, you must be:
✓ a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person;
✓ out of high school;
✓ a registered apprentice with a provincial/territorial apprenticeship authority in a designated Red Seal trade; and
✓ able to provide proof that you have successfully completed either the first and/or second year or level (or equivalent) in a designated Red Seal trade on or after January 1, 2007.
When can I apply for the AIG?
You can apply for the AIG after completing your first and/or second year or level (or equivalent) of your apprenticeship program in a designated Red Seal trade. Service Canada must receive your application by June 30 of the year after you complete the first and/or second year or level.
